Graduate Certificate Application Process
We are currently accepting applications to the Graduate Certificate Program in Digital Forensics that will start in May of 2012. Note: Our new programs in Cyber Security do not start until Summer of 2013; we will not be accepting applications to those programs until the beginning of 2013.
Students apply to the Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics through the URI Department of Computer Science by submitting an online graduate application to URI's Graduate School by May 15, 2012.
To apply:
- Visit the URI Graduate School website
- For the College, select "College of Arts & Sciences" and then select "Digital Forensics Certificate" for the Program Requested. This will auto-fill the Degree and Academic Program boxes.
- Enter nothing in the Sub-plan drop down box.
- In the Concentration text box enter "Graduate Certificate-DF"
Include in the first line of your personal statement that you are applying to the Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics.
The Graduate Record Exams (GRE) are NOT required for admission to the Graduate Certificate program. However, they are required for admission to the Masters and PhD programs.
Students must also send in two letters of recommendation and an official undergraduate transcript. The official undergraduate transcript can be mailed to:

The two letters of recommendation can be either mailed to the above address or emailed to forensics@cs.uri.edu. If emailing the letters of recommendation, please make sure that the subject is: "Letters of Recommendation for Candidate's Name"
